Hunt Camp Accommodations

A Comfortable Retreat in the Montana Wilderness

Rustic Cabins, Modern Comforts, Unmatched Scenery

Chimney Rock Outfitter's hunting camp, south of Livingston, Montana consists of two comfortable cabins. The older, constructed in 1942, is the cook and dining cabin. The newer, built in 1997, is reserved for our hunting clients.

The hunter's cabin is equipped with eight log-framed beds and a wood stove for your comfort. We have full bathroom facilities with indoor plumbing so you can enjoy a nice, hot shower after a good day of hunting. A propane generator provides electricity for our hunting camp.

Life at Camp

A Cozy, Welcoming Camp to End Every Hunt Day

Comfort, Hospitality, and the Sounds of the Creek

Both cabins are situated alongside clear-flowing West Pine Creek. Some guests have commented that sounds of the creek are so restful, they wish they had one back home.

Guests regularly compliment our camp as being very comfortable and cozy. A perpetual burning fire in both cabins is tended by the camp cook, assuring a warm and dry space for you at the conclusion of each day's hunt. Kick back and enjoy. Coffee, homemade cookies and snacks are plentiful!

Expansive Terrain, Thriving Wildlife, Unmatched Scenery

2,500 Acres of Prime Hunting Land in the Heart of Montana

The Reserve, a high mountain plateau at approximately 7800 feet, offers a view of Livingston, the Bridger Mountains, Crazy Mountains, Absarokee/Beartooth Mountains, and the Paradise Valley.

Each of the terrain drainages we hunt presents a matchless and varied experience for every hunter in the party.

The range terrain consists of numerous rolling to steep drainages: Strickland Creek, West Pine Creek, Trail Creek and Bullis Creek all migrate to the Paradise Valley floor.

2,000 acres of irrigated alfalfa and grass hay meadows lure elk, mule deer and whitetail deer to feed at night. By daybreak, guided clients will often witness 200 head of elk still feeding in these meadows.

Wildlife abundance is well known in this area: large resident herds of elk, mule and whitetail deer, moose and black bear. The yearly USFWP elk count in the drainages each spring number more than 1000 head ranging in the area. The elk numbers are increasing by 15-20% yearly.
